$500,000 Funding For Shire Community Organisations

Big Sister Foundation has announced funding grants totalling $500,000 will be made over the next 2 years to six Shire-based community organisations supporting women and families in need.

Recipients of the grants are 3Bridges’ Early Years Support Services, Dandelion Support Network, One Meal Sutherland Shire, Southern Community Welfare, The Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation and Project Youth’s Labour Y social enterprise.

Based in Gymea, the Big Sister Foundation operates exclusively in the Sutherland Shire and St George areas, providing both funding and other non-financial support to local community organisations who provide services to women and families needing support.

Big Sister Foundation chair, Kim Brown said, “We are delighted to assist our community partners to deliver their much needed services.”

“Our 2019/2020 grants are given to help build the long term sustainability of these valuable services and to underpin the establishment of new social enterprises in the Shire.”

“Outside of government funding, Big Sister Foundation is one of the largest donors of community funding in the Shire.”
